About me
My name is Raphael Kirchner. I grew up in a musical family, studied philosophy and psychology, and eventually found my way into software development. Music was never just a hobby—it has been a constant part of my life since childhood.
For more than three decades, I have worked as a developer, product manager, and consultant. Alongside that, I have also been involved in music professionally from an early age—as a cellist, guitarist, and bassist, as a guitar and keyboard teacher, and as a songwriter in the German-language pop scene.
What has always fascinated me about music is not only how it sounds, but why it works: perception and expectation, rhythm, harmony, modes, and the structures behind songs and compositions.
On Meloporeo, I explore these connections—music learning, music theory, perception, creativity, and the question of how we understand music. And who knows—some of these ideas might eventually turn into practical tools.
